Fuel spills in Savannah River after ship’s tank ruptures

(SAVANNAH, Ga.) — A fuel tank ruptured on a ship in the Georgia Ports’ Ocean Terminal, the Savannah Morning News reported. The 625-foot Liberty experienced the accident as it was departing. Thousands of gallons of fuel spilled into the Savannah River, which was closed during the emergency response.
