(NEW YORK) — A NY Waterway ferry collided with a group of kayakers in the Hudson River late Tuesday afternoon, injuring five people including a man whose arm was severed, the New York Daily News reported. Officials said the ferry Jersey City was leaving a Manhattan pier at about 1745 when it hit the group of 10 kayakers, which included a guide. Police said the captain of the ferry tested negative for alcohol and drugs. They are investigating whether glare blinded him to the kayakers’ presence.
