Ex-Mass. ferry now serves as apartment boat for New Yorkers

(NEW YORK) — A real estate developer has transformed a former Martha’s Vineyard ferry into an apartment boat in New York City, the New York Times reported. The 143-foot vessel is moored at an undisclosed location within a 10-minute boat ride from Midtown. The ferry’s capacity was 650 passengers, and it still has its two Cummins engines for propulsion, but now it’s home to five people.
