Ex-crewman’s book recounts when Barque Eagle was German

(NEW LONDON, Conn.) — A former German seaman has published a book about the origins of the Barque Eagle, the New Haven Register reported. The square rigger, currently a U.S. Coast Guard Academy training ship, previously served in Germany’s Third Reich. Then the vessel was called Horst Wessel. The book is called “A Perfect Lady.”
