(PANAMA CITY, Fla.) — Eastern Shipbuilding plans to hire 80 to 100 new full-time employees, the News Herald newspaper of Panama City reported. Tugboat and fuel barge orders are driving the demand for welders, pipefitters, carpenters, heavy equipment operators and painters. A shipyard welding program at a local technical school is seeking enrollees to try to help the shipbuilder fill the positions.
