Cruise-ship refit doubles workforce at Victoria Shipyards dock

(VICTORIA, British Columbia) — A massive cruiseship refit project is allowing Victoria Shipyards to double its usual local workforce to 600 employees, the Victoria Times Colonist newspaper reported. The 108,000-ton Golden Princess is the largest vessel ever docked at the Esquimalt Graving Dock. It's the first of three scheduled refit projects at the shipyard.
