(DULUTH, Minn.) — A crewman aboard an ore carrier was killed when a conveyor belt crushed him, television station KBJR reported. The 61-year-old Michigan man was participating in repairs aboard the Stewart J. Cort when he was caught between the belt and a roller. The accident happened on the 1,000-foot laker in Lake Superior about 10 miles from Devil’s Island.
