(NEW ORLEANS) — A tugboat captain was killed Wednesday night when a barge crane struck the Florida Avenue Bridge and fell on the boat's wheelhouse, The Times-Picayune reported. A Coast Guard spokesman said the tugboat Cory Michael and the barge were passing under the open lift bridge on the Industrial Canal when the accident occurred. The Orleans Parish Coroner identified the captain Thursday as Michael Collins, 46.
