Consol Energy barges break loose, strike at least one other barge

(PITTSBURGH) — Two barges broke loose from a towboat and struck another barge in the Ohio River, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported. The vessels, which belong to Consol Energy, were coraled by a towboat. The Coast Guard is investigating whether the runaway barges also struck a moored barge that contained anhydrous ammonia and had evidence of damage.
