Coast Guard drastically reduces ICGS’s lead role in Deepwater

(WASHINGTON) — The Coast Guard has drastically reduced ICGS’s role as lead systems integrator for the Deepwater acquisitions program, Government Executive magazine reported. The Coast Guard is hiring its own acquisitions professionals to lead the project in-house, but competition for such personnel is stiff from the Department of Defense. Rear Adm. Gary Blore testified that the Coast Guard would like to achieve parity with the DoD, which has direct hire authority.
