Coast Guard crew: We never saw other boat before San Diego crash

(SAN DIEGO) — The Coast Guard boat crew involved in a fatal crash with a pleasure boat told investigators that they never saw the boat, television station KFMB reported. The National Transportation Safety Board released a large amount of documents, including interviews with the Coast Guard crew and the family of the 8-year-old boy who was killed in the crash, which happened during a holiday boat parade in 2009. One crewman said he thought the Coast Guard boat was sailing at 20 to 25 knots when it struck the family’s Sea Ray.
