(NEW LONDON, Conn.) — The deed for the site of the future National Coast Guard Museum passed from the city of New London to the Coast Guard on Friday, The Day reported. Museum supporters gathered at City Pier with the barque Eagle as a backdrop to watch Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio and Adm. Robert J. Papp Jr., the Coast Guard commandant, sign the deed. The museum association needs to raise millions of dollars before construction can begin on the .37-acre lot behind Union Station.
