Civilian mariners who assisted Flight 1549 honored at Intrepid

(NEW YORK) — Civilian mariners who helped rescue US Airways Flight 1549 victims from the Hudson River in January were honored today aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, the New York Times reported on its City Room blog. U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and other officials recognized 72 mariners for their role in the response. Each mariner received a medal.
