Cellular signals help monitor ships in whale-protection area

(HALIFAX) — Researchers are using cellular technology to track ship movements around a protected whale area, the Canadian Press reported. Vessels have begun detouring around the Roseway Basin, off Nova Scotia. The zone was established to protect right whales, and officials are hoping to expand the cellular ship-tracking network along more of the coastline.
