Carnival reviewing engine-room redundancies, emergency power after Triumph blackout

(MIAMI) — Carnival Corp. has begun a company-wide review of ideas that would prevent blackout incidents such as the recent Carnival Triumph fire, USA Today reported. Chief Executive Gerry Cahill said engineers and shipyard partners are examining engine-room redundancies, among other solutions. The cruise line also is looking at how to bring additional hospitality services under emergency generator power.
