(TORONTO) — Algoma Central Corp. is ready to roll out the first in a line of groundbreaking eco-friendly freighters, Cleantech Canada reported. The 740-foot Algoma Equinox will be the greenest bulk carrier in the country when it sails the St. Lawrence Seaway to deliver ore and grain. A closed-loop exhaust scrubbing system from Wartsila eliminates 97 percent of all sulfur dioxide emissions before they reach the atmosphere.
