BC Ferries collects $61M in sunken-vessel insurance claim

(PRINCE RUPERT, British Columbia) — BC Ferries has collected $61.3 million in insurance money from the sinking of the Queen of the North, the Canadian Press reported. The vessel sank near Hartley Bay in March 2006, and the agency is still being sued for the environmental damage. The agency said it spent $2 million to introduce its SafeSail program.
