Bath Iron Works seeks tax break to expand

(BATH, Maine) — Bath Iron Works wants to build a new outfitting hall that the shipyard said will make it more competitive with rival Huntington Ingalls in winning major U.S. Navy contracts, the Kennebec Journal reported. BIW is seeking tax increment financing (TIF) from the city for the project, which would be completed in 2015. Other existing buildings at BIW would receive upgrades.
