Another toxic U.S. ship under scrutiny in India’s shipbreaking region

(ALANG, India) — Authorities in India’s Gujarat state are inspecting a U.S. ship thought to be carrying toxic materials, the Hindustan Times newspaper reported. The Platinum II arrived in the Alang shipbreaking region to be recycled for scrap. A three-member inspection team will determine if the vessel was properly decontaminated before it sailed to Alang.
