(BAYOU LA BATRE, Ala.) — An Alabama barge is being maneuvered through local waters on its way to assist at the Deepwater Horizon disaster site, television station WKRG reported. National Response Corp.’s barge Defender is being towed by the tugboat Helena Maria. The barge will be involved in oil skimming operations.
