Work begins at Irving’s Shelburne yard as result of Nova Scotia loan

(SHELBURNE, Nova Scotia) — Engineering and permit work have begun on a government-financed project to install a new rail system at Irving’s Shelburne Ship Repair yard, the Shelburne County Coastguard newspaper reported. The provice of Nova Scotia loaned the company C$9 million to replace the old launch rail, which dates back to World War II. The new rail may be ready this fall.
