(CASTINE, Maine) — Maritime piracy was a topic of discussion at the Women on the Water conference at Maine Maritime Academy, the Bangor Daily News newspaper reported. An official from Trident Group said vessel operators are “thinking twice” about sending ships through the Gulf of Aden. Discussion focused on prevention of pirate boardings by making ships more secure.
