Western Fire & Safety celebrates 30th anniversary

(SEATTLE) — Western Fire & Safety, a supplier of marine firefighting and safety equipment, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The company began operations with the intent of primarily serving the marine industry of Seattle and has grown through the years to become a leader in providing equipment, inspections and support to private, commercial and government vessels across the world.

Western Fire & Safety has a large full-service shop and also provides services to the public for cars, homes, businesses and restaurants. The company services the West Coast, Alaska, the Pacific islands and international customers, with 24-hour emergency service contacts available year-round. Western Fire is approved by agencies including the U.S. Coast Guard, ABS, Lloyd’s Register, DNV GL and RINA. The company is a member of North Pacific Fishing Vessel Owners' Association, the USCG Auxiliary, BoatUS and the National Fire Protection Association.

"Our shop is open to anyone who wants to stop in just to take a look, touch, learn and get educated on fire safety equipment, how to operate a fire extinguisher, or learn more about different safety products available on the market," said Mirza Agha, president of Western Fire & Safety. "Best of all, we are not limited to just the Greater Seattle area."

The company is in the beginning phases of construction of a new and improved facility a block away from its current Ballard Market Street location. The facility will allow the company to stock more equipment and provide faster and better service while also being more environmentally conscious. The upgrade will include a training facility with a full library, a 2,500-square-foot warehouse and a retail area for customers to browse.

"The past 30 years have been a whirlwind, especially for a small business like ourselves," Agha said. "We could not have achieved this milestone without the dedicated and professional support of our amazing customers, supportive vendors, and hard-working and tireless staff over the years. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have participated in our growth and success, and look forward to a great future and continued service to all. Your safety is our No. 1 priority."
