Water district sues La. barge owner after accident

(THIBODAUX, La.) — The Bayou Lafourche Fresh Water District is suing a Houma company after one of its barges hit a protective structure at an intake on the Mississippi River, the Daily Comet reported. The barge, owned by D&S Marine Services, struck the tripod-like “dolphin” before dawn on Sept. 17, 2012, the suit alleges. D&S Marine has not repaired the damage, the water district said.
