Washington state ferries help rescue 27 from grounded schooner

(FRIDAY HARBOR, Wash.) — The 95-year-old schooner Adventuress ran hard aground in Wasp Passage, the Peninsula Daily News reported. Two Washington State Ferries vessels diverted to help rescue the 27 occupants. The schooner, which once served as a pilot boat in San Francisco Bay, dislodged from the rocks and is undergoing inspection at Port Townsend.
