USNS Kocak undergoes emergency repairs after grounding

(OKINAWA, Japan) — USNS Sgt. Matej Kocak is undergoing emergency temporary repairs after being stranded on a coral reef for nearly two weeks, the Navy Times reported. The 821-foot prepositioning ship was refloated Feb. 2 after grounding six miles off the coast of Okinawa. A Navy spokesman said NAVSEA contractors have patched the portside hull and internal repairs are ongoing.
