U.S. extends Jones Act waivers to boost gasoline deliveries

(WASHINGTON) — The Department of Homeland Security has extended Jones Act waivers to speed the deliver of gasoline to the region affected by Hurricane Sandy, Reuters news service reported. The federal government expanded the waivers to include components needed in the refining of gasoline. The hurricane disrupted fuel transport, including the closure of New York Harbor.
