U.S., Canada nearing agreement to control ship pollution

(WASHINGTON) — The U.S. and Canada are close to an agreement to reduce air pollution from ships, McClatchy Newspapers reported. The goal is to control emissions from oceangoing vessels in an effort to cleanse the air in port cities and also inland. The International Maritime Organization, which has never approved any curbs on ship emissions at sea, then would consider the measure.
