Tugs, barges on the job as construction starts on new R.I. bridge

(TIVERTON, R.I.) — Tugboats and barges are on the job now that construction of the new Sakonnet River Bridge has begun, the Herald News of Fall River, Mass., reported. Because the waterway will be more crowded with the vessels, the Coast Guard has established a safety zone in the area and installed new buoys. At least five barge will be invovled in the construction project.
