(GILBOA, N.Y.) — A tugboat working on a Schoharie Reservoir construction project took on water and sank Monday, spilling a small amount of fuel, the Watershed Post reported. The work site where the tugboat was operating was already surrounded by absorbent booms to prevent contamination of the reservoir, according to a spokesman for the state Department of Environmental Protection, so the spill was contained to the immediate area. A dive team is working to salvage the vessel, the name of which was not released. No injuries were reported.
