Tug sinks while tied to dock on St. Lawrence River

(CAPE VINCENT, N.Y.) — A 30-foot tugboat sank near the James Street ferry dock on Friday morning, spilling 10 to 20 gallons of diesel fuel into the St. Lawrence River, the Watertown Daily Times reported. The former Coast Guard boat, owned by Thousand Islands Marine & Island Service Inc., was built in 1954 and was recently upgraded. The cause of the sinking was not immediately known.
