Transas expands Global ECDIS Training Network in China

(HAMBURG, Germany) — The New Alliance Marine Training Centre (NAMTC) has joined the Transas Global ECDIS Training Network (GET-Net), allowing shipping companies to benefit from high-quality ECDIS training from the first Transas GET-Net partner in China.

The New Alliance Marine Training Centre was established in Wuhan, China, in April 2009 with the main objectives to provide training services for shipowners and operators and help Chinese seafarers in improving their competence to meet the requirements of the global maritime market. In the past years, NAMTC has trained more than 20,000 seafarers who work for more than 50 of the world's leading shipping companies. In the near future NAMTC will extend its Transas installations from a single classroom to a full-mission bridge simulator featuring a 360-degree field of vision.

With almost 40 GET-Net partners, Transas' network of type-specific training providers is now the largest in the world, offering ECDIS training in accordance with the STCW 2010 requirements.
