Towboat captain, victim discuss rescue after kayaker struck by fish

(MIAMI) — The towboat captain and victim got together to tell the story of the rescue of a kayaker who was severely injured when a flying barracuda struck her, CBS News reported. Towing service captain Kevin Freestone said his vessel was summoned to a spot in the Florida Keys where the woman had broken ribs and a collapsed lung. She survived, and Freestone received the Coast Guard’s Public Service Commendation Award for the rescue.
