THE GLOSTEN ASSOCIATES ANNOUNCES NEW PRESIDENT

 (Seattle) The Glosten Associates, a Seattle naval architecture and marine engineering consulting firm announces new leadership changes.
 
The Glosten Associates Board of Directors elected John L.R. Edgar, III, as President effective January 1, 2011. Jay will serve as Glosten’s fourth President since its founding in 1958. William L. Hurley, Jr., having served as President since 2001, will serve as Chairman of the Board.
 
Jay Edgar, President Jay Edgar, a graduate of Webb Institute of Naval Architecture, joined Glosten in 1988. Throughout his career he has been a resource for creative design solutions and has been responsible for delivery of many of the firm’s most complex projects.
 
Over the last few years as Director of Engineering and most recently as Vice President, Jay has focused on reinforcing the firm’s engineering structure and processes.

Since joining The Glosten Associates in 1977, Bill Hurley has specialized in vessel design and construction while building close ties throughout the marine industry. During his tenure as President, Glosten doubled in size, increased its range of services, and expanded into new national and international markets. Bill will continue to be closely involved in the firm, both as Chairman and supporting and executing strategic business initiatives. “It has been very satisfying to help the firm grow and evolve. It is also very rewarding to have accomplished this leadership transition and to see Jay ready and able to lead the firm into a very promising future.”
