Texas businessman’s ship entangled in Nova Scotia legal disputes

(BRIDGEWATER, Nova Scotia) — A former naval ship owned by a Brownsville, Texas, businessman is caught up in a complex series of legal disputes, the Chronicle Herald newspaper of Halifax reported. Emilio Sanchez formed Dominion Shipping so he could buy the Cormorant in 1998. Now the vessel is under arrest for unpaid wharfage fees and is the subject of a separate legal case brought by the ship’s agent who says the company owes him back pay.
