Smoke fills Hudson River commuter ferry as result of engine fire

(EDGEWATER, N.J.) — A NY Waterways ferry experienced an engine-room fire this morning, the New York Daily News newspaper reported. Smoke filled the Moira Smith during a morning commuter run from New Jersey to Manhattan. Another NY Waterways vessel towed the Moira Smith back to its dock and evacuated the 27 passengers.
