Shell: Drillships coming to Seattle despite port's vote

(SEATTLE) — Shell Oil says its offshore drilling rigs will arrive soon in Seattle to prepare for drilling in Alaska, despite a Port of Seattle resolution Tuesday asking the company to delay, The Seattle Times reported. Foss Maritime, which is slated to work on the two Shell rigs at Terminal 5, expected the first of the drillships to arrive Thursday. The port commission requested the delay while it challenges a city ruling aimed at keeping the rigs out.
