Containership strikes berth while docking in Vancouver

Mol Precision Hits Vancouver Berth

(VANCOUVER, British Columbia) — The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has deployed a team of investigators to Port Metro Vancouver after the containership MOL Precision struck a berth while docking Tuesday, World Maritime News reported. The extent of damage to the berth and the vessel is unknown. In March, the 6,350-TEU Japanese ship was detained by the U.S. Coast Guard in Seattle after a number of violations were discovered during a port state control exam.
