Seattle welcomes new West Marine store

Grand opening celebration Sept. 12-14 will include tips from experts, electronics demos, door-buster deals, giveaways and raffles

Grand opening festivities kick off on Friday, Sept. 12, at 8 a.m. and go through Sunday, Sept. 14. The parking lot will be transformed into a waterlife show, with boats, marine-related organizations and activities. In-store events will include tips from experts, electronics demos, door-buster deals, giveaways and raffles. The new Seattle store is at 1827 15th Ave W, Suite A22, between Fishermen's Terminal and Elliott Bay Marina.

The new West Marine Seattle store will cater to everyone who loves spending time on or around the water. Paddling enthusiasts will find one of the best selections of kayaks, paddleboards and paddling accessories in the greater Seattle area. Powerboaters will love the new engine counter, with instant access to 1,000 replacement parts for everything from fuel filters to steering cables to make it fast and easy to keep boats operating smoothly on the water. In addition to core boating departments such as maintenance, sailboat hardware and anchoring, the store will have marine electronics available to touch and test. The wide selection of men’s and women’s apparel, footwear and accessories includes the top nautical brands. A 14-year veteran of West Marine, Avlogitos is a lifelong power boating enthusiast, with experience fishing and sailing small boats. “My current passion is stand-up paddle boarding,” Avlogitos said. “Every weekend you’ll find me on one of Washington’s beautiful lakes or Puget Sound.”

The crew of 25-30 associates at West Marine Seattle are some of the area’s most experienced boaters, with more than 250 years of combined boating experience and more than 10,000 cruising miles. Operations Manager Randy Sandell is an expert in inflatable boats and engines. Captain Bob Starita and Lauren Gallegos are cruising sailors with expertise in both boating and the cruising lifestyle. Cliff Hennen is a professional rigger. Port Supply Hub Manager Karen Audett is a powerboater and avid waterskier.
