Seaspan to build three research ships for Canada

(NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia) — Seaspan Shipyards has reached an agreement in principle with the Canadian government to build three fisheries research vessels, North Shore News reported. The agreement sets a target price of $400 million for the work and a ceiling price of $544 million. The vessels will be operated by the Canadian Coast Guard and used by scientists to assess fish stocks and the marine ecosystem, as well as respond to marine emergencies.
