Seaspan gets design contract for Canadian supply ships

(OTTAWA) — Seaspan has been awarded a $230 million contract to design two joint support ships for the Royal Canadian Navy, CBC News reported. Construction of the vessels, part of the federal government's National Shipbuilding Strategy, is expected to begin next year. The Vancouver shipyard is building three offshore fisheries science vessels for Canadian Coast Guard under the national plan.
