Riverboat Mark Twain’s docking pole smashed by block of ice

(HANNIBAL, Mo.) — The docking pole that holds the riverboat Mark Twain in place at its dock has been smashed by a block of ice, television station WGEM reported. The vessel is now pushed up against the river bank and no towboats are currently available to assist in getting it back into place. The operator may use a backhoe and wrecker to move the boat around and get a new stern pole into place.
