Report: U.S. passenger vessels slow to adopt new safety standards

(PHILADELPHIA) — The passenger boat industry has been reluctant to accept new formal rules for improving safety, News21 and the Capital News Service reported. The National Transportation Safety Board recommended eight years ago that passenger vessel operators should adopt new safety management systems. The Passenger Vessel Association and its operator members have been slow to accept the additional paperwork.
