Renewable Lubricants partners with Green Marine

(HARTVILLE, Ohio) — Renewable Lubricants, a manufacturer of bio-based, ultimately biodegradable lubricants for a wide variety of industries and applications, has joined Green Marine as a partner, providing lubrication products designed to help Green Marine participants improve their environmental performance.

Green Marine is the voluntary industry initiative to guide the shipping industry toward environmental excellence by adopting concrete, measurable actions that go beyond regulatory requirements. Since 2007, Green Marine has encouraged its participants to continually improve their environmental performance. Originally designed for the St. Lawrence and Great Lakes region of the U.S. and Canada, the program quickly attracted worldwide interest. “We’re proud to count Renewable Lubricants among our partners. By supporting our participants with environmentally responsible solutions, they play an essential role in driving the maritime industry’s commitment to continuous environmental improvement and sustainability,” said David Bolduc, president and CEO, Green Marine International.

“We’re thrilled to be a Green Marine partner because their goals and objectives so closely mirror our own,” said Renewable Lubricants Vice President Ben Garmier. “Like Green Marine, we believe that the earth’s environmental future rests in the use of renewable materials. That is why we developed environmentally responsible lubricants formulated from renewable agricultural bio-based resources. As important, we deliver performance better than or equal to petroleum-based products, and we continue to collaborate with OEMs to ensure that our products meet or exceed their technical specs.”

Renewable Lubricants manufactures a wide range of bio-based, environmentally friendly products that meet the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP) guidelines for environmentally accepted lubricants (EALs), and should be used where low toxicity, biodegradability, and non-bio-accumulation properties are required. They exceed the acute toxicity (LC-50/EC-50 >1000ppm) criteria adopted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the EPA.
