(SEATTLE) — The Shell drillship Polar Pioneer arrived in Seattle on Thursday, marking the next phase in the company’s plan to explore for oil in Arctic waters, Splash 24/7 reported. Environmentalists plan a “Festival of Resistance” this weekend as another Shell drillship, Noble Discoverer, heads to the city. The company has conditional approval for its Chukchi Sea plan from the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management but still faces other administrative hurdles.
