Online training offered for new sVGP rules

The following is the text of a news release from the MARPOL Training Institute:

(MIDDLETOWN, Calif.) — What is sVGP? Effective Dec. 19, 2014, the U.S. EPA’s small vessel general permit (sVGP) regulations go into effect requiring all commercial vessels operating in U.S. waters less than 79 feet in length to regularly conduct vessel inspections, keep records and report any noncompliance with these regulations.

If you are involved with operating commercial vessels in the waters of the USA less than 79 feet in length, then this training is a must for you and your vessel operators. Fishing vessels, workboats, fleeting tugs, charter vessels, small passenger vessels all commercial vessels less than 79 feet in length must comply.

The MARPOL Training Institute Inc. announces the release of its latest product, sVGP 2014-2019 computer based training. This training program is available online at www.svgp.us at a very low cost of $35 through Oct. 31, 2014. It is also available as software for installation on your office network or training PCs.
