Oil tanker under tow to Nova Scotia after losing its steering (UPDATE)

(HALIFAX, Nova Scotia) — A tanker carrying 675,000 barrels of crude oil was under tow to Halifax on Thursday after losing its steering the day before, CBC News reported. A spokesman for Teekay Corp., the ship's owner, said Australian Spirit had been adrift about 70 kilometers southeast of Halifax on Wednesday afternoon. Two tugboats were assisting the ship, which was scheduled to arrive in port late Thursday night.
