Odyssey Marine locates HMS Victory wreckage in English Channel

(TAMPA, Fla.) — Odyssey Marine Exploration has located the wreckage of the HMS Victory, which was lost in the English Channel in 1744, the British Broadcasting Corp. reported. Adm. Nelson’s legendary ship was named after this ship, which was believed to have gone down off the Channel Islands. Tampa-based Odyssey says the Victory, loaded with weapons and valuables, was located about 50 miles away from the place where it was thought to have sunk.
