This model by Philips, a world leader in the development of medical devices and equipment, is a much more robust commercial-grade unit designed to withstand a compression test of 500 pounds, a drop test onto concrete from 3 feet, and meets the IP55 rating to withstand pressure-sprayed water — not waterproof, yet certainly much more substantial than the alternatives. It also can be utilized on a wet patient and while on a wet, metal deck if need be.
Configured in a waterproof hard-shell case, the Commercial Vessel Defibrillator Kit is complete with the Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator with a long-life lithium battery and a set of Smart Pads; a spare long-life lithium battery; a spare set of Smart Pads; response prep supplies (shears, CPR mask, towel, prep razor and gloves); quick reference guide; owner's manual; and an eight-year Philips AED warranty. As configured the Commercial Vessel Defibrillator Kit is offered by OceanMedix at the price of $2,350. The kit is 13.5 by 11.75 by 6 inches, weighing 9 pounds.
