NY's annual Tugboat Roundup draws record number of participants

(WATERFORD, N.Y.) — Twenty-seven tugs participated over the weekend in the 17th annual Tugboat Roundup, one of the largest maritime festivals in New York state, The Record reported. The star of the show was the 2016 Tug of the Year, Frances, a New York State Marine Highway vessel. Originally built in 1957 in Brooklyn, the 88-foot tug has worked on the Erie Canal and in the Port of Rensselaer as well as more recently on the Hudson River and the Great Lakes.
